LOCTITE® 5776
LOCTITE® 5776 is a yellow, medium-strength, thixotropic anaerobic thread sealant designed for coarse metal threaded pipes and fittings up to 3″ (80 mm). It cures in confined spaces without air, immediately sealing against leaks and preventing loosening due to shock or vibration. With fast cure, low odour and approvals for gas and potable water use, it suits both outdoor and industrial environments .
LOCTITE® 5776 is a single-component adhesive that forms a dependable seal on coarse threads for piping, plumbing and heavy machinery. Its yellow thixotropic liquid prevents dripping and ensures clean application. It cures rapidly across metals including steel, brass and stainless steel—ideal for low-temperature or outdoor assembly. With DVGW certification for gas, WRAS and NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water, it meets rigorous safety standards while delivering reliable performance under pressure.
Specifications
Specific gravity approximately 1.09 at 25 °C Viscosity between 1 000 and 6 000 mPa·s (cone & plate at 100 s⁻¹) Breakaway torque on M10 steel is around 8 N·m after 24 hours; on brass it is 20 N·m Cures in about 5 minutes on brass, 30 minutes on steel and 1 hour on zinc coated parts; fully cured by 72 hours () Service temperature range –55 °C to +150 °C Certified to DVGW EN 751 1, WRAS BS 6920 and NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water.
